SOUMILE hotel amenities collection by UMYAN

SOUMILE is our sensory brand, built around a Paris Left Bank character — warm, layered fragrance and tactile packaging that turn the bath ritual into an indulgent guest moment.

What “sensory” means in practice

Most hotel amenity lines are specified on paper: format, volume, unit cost. SOUMILE is specified by how it behaves in the room — the weight of the bottle in the hand, the resistance of the cap, how the scent opens in steam and what is left of it twenty minutes later.

That sounds soft until you consider where it matters. In an upscale city hotel the guest spends more time with the amenity than with almost any other object in the room, and it is one of the few things they can pick up. A line that photographs well but feels hollow is a missed opportunity in exactly the segment that is paying for the difference.

The fragrance

The Left Bank reference is about structure, not marketing. The profile is layered rather than linear — it does not present its whole self in the first second and stay flat, which is the common failing of low-cost hotel fragrance. Warm base notes are what make it read as considered rather than clean-and-anonymous.

Fragrance development runs alongside Givaudan, drawing on our library of over 1,000 in-house formula bases. That matters for a sensory line specifically: a scent that a guest notices is also a scent they will notice changing, so reorder consistency is not optional.

Coordinating the room

A signature bath fragrance loses most of its effect if the corridor and lobby smell of something unrelated. SOUMILE is built to carry across bath and body care and room scenting — reed diffusers and room spray on the same scent profile — so the impression holds from the lift lobby through to the shower.

This is the practical argument for treating fragrance as a program rather than a product line. The full approach is covered in our guide to signature scent programs.

Who specifies it

Upscale city hotels, lifestyle and design-led brands, and boutique properties where the bathroom is part of the positioning rather than a utility. It is not the efficient answer for high-turnover economy rooms — UMYAN is the better fit there, and using a sensory line where nobody has time to notice it is money spent in the wrong place.

Specifying it

The line covers bath and body care and coordinated fragrance. Custom production starts at 5,000 units per item, with artwork and physical samples before the run.

Two routes: carry the existing SOUMILE fragrance under your own brand via private label, or develop a scent that belongs only to your property through custom formula. The second takes longer and costs more, and for a group with several properties it is usually the one that earns its keep. Send us your positioning and room tiers and we will propose a direction with a quote.
