Hotel Amenities List: A Complete Guest Room Checklist (2026)

Hotel Amenities List: A Complete Guest Room Checklist (2026)

A complete hotel amenities list has six core groups: bath & body care, amenity kits & dry goods, slippers, dispensers & bulk liquids, room fragrance, and accessories. Together they make up the branded guest set a property puts in every room.

That’s the short answer. But if you’re the one who actually has to spec it, budget it and live with the reviews, you need more than a list. You need to know which sizes to choose, where to spend and where to save, and which choices quietly cause problems later.

We’ve manufactured these amenities for 5,000+ hotels across 40 countries since 2013. Over those 13 years we’ve seen what works in a real housekeeping cart and what just looks good in a catalog. This guide is the checklist we’d hand a buyer on their first day. (New to the topic? Start with what hotel amenities are.)

What goes on a complete hotel amenities list?

Here’s the whole set at a glance, with the sizes you’ll actually specify.

Now let’s go through each one the way we’d talk you through it on a call. (For the guest bathroom specifically, see our hotel bathroom amenities guide; if you’re fitting out a new property, use the new hotel opening checklist.)

1. Bath & body care

Guests judge your whole property by the shampoo bottle. We’ve watched it happen for years — a beautiful room, a thin, cheap-smelling shower gel, and the review still mentions it.

So get the bath line right first. You need six matched items: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, hand wash and soap. The word that matters is matched — same formula family, same signature scent. A mismatched set is the most common mistake we see from first-time buyers.

Sizes and formats:

  • 15–20ml bottles or tubes for economy and high-turnover rooms
  • 30–40ml for 4–5 star rooms, where a fuller bottle feels generous
  • 300–500ml pumps for showers and public washrooms
  • 1L / 3.78L / 5L bulk for refilling back-of-house
  • 15–40g bar soap — pleated, embossed or wrapped — the classic low-waste option

On branding, you can go label, silk-screen or emboss. Because we run 1,000+ in-house formulas and develop fragrance with Givaudan, the bath line can carry a custom scent that becomes your property’s signature — the thing guests can’t quite name but remember.

Buying tip: Ask any bath-care supplier for their GMPC certificate number before anything else. That’s the cosmetics GMP standard. If they can’t produce it, walk away — you’re putting these formulas on guests’ skin.

Start with the bath & body range, the popular 30ml guest shampoo, foaming hand wash and pleated guest soap. For a full breakdown of every size and format, see our hotel toiletry sizes & formats guide.

2. Amenity kits & dry goods

Kits are the “dry” half of the bathroom, and they’re the cheapest place to lift how premium a room feels. The standard set:

  • Dental kit — brush + paste
  • Shaving kit — razor + cream
  • Vanity kit — cotton pads, swabs, nail file
  • Comb, shower cap, sewing kit

Here’s where the tier really shows: it’s the packaging, not the contents. Plain card boxes read as economy. Kraft and sugarcane paper read as eco and considered. A printed sleeve or pouch reads as 5-star. Same toothbrush inside — completely different first impression.

For example, a city business hotel we supply kept the exact same dental kit but moved from a clear sleeve to a matte kraft box with a foil logo. Guests started leaving them in the room as a keepsake instead of binning them.

Explore amenity kits, the hotel dental kit, shaving kit and the kraft amenity kit. For how to choose a set by room tier, see our hotel amenity kits guide.

3. Slippers

Slippers are a tiny line item with an outsized comfort payoff. Spec them by fabric and sole:

  • EVA — light, fully disposable, lowest cost
  • Waffle — the 4-star default; soft and presentable
  • Terry, linen, velvet — for 5-star and resort rooms
  • 6–7mm anti-slip sole across formats, with embroidery available for your logo

One small warning: don’t under-spec the sole to save a few cents. A slipper that slides on a wet bathroom floor is a guest-safety problem, not a savings.

Browse hotel slippers, EVA disposable slippers and waffle disposable slippers. For materials, sizing and branding, see our full hotel slippers guide.

4. Dispensers & bulk liquids

If you want the single biggest cut in plastic and cost, it’s here. Moving from small bottles to wall-mounted dispensers is the change most groups are making right now. Your options:

  • Single, double or triple wall-mounted heads, refilled from bulk
  • Anti-theft / locking stainless models for public washrooms and gyms
  • 1L / 3.78L / 5L bulk in your matched formula and fragrance

For example, a 200-room property switching public washrooms and showers to dispensers removes hundreds of small bottles per room every year — and because the bulk carries your existing scent, guests don’t feel downgraded. They often don’t notice at all, which is exactly the point.

Buying tip: If sustainability is the goal, choose a locking dispenser for public areas. Open-top dispensers get tampered with or topped up with the wrong liquid, and then your housekeeping team is the one explaining it.

See dispensers, the triple-wall dispenser and the stainless anti-theft dispenser. For chambers, mounting and anti-theft, see our hotel soap dispensers guide.

5. Room fragrance

Scent is the cheapest way to make a room feel expensive, and the easiest way to make it feel consistent across a whole property. A signature fragrance ties the bath line, the lobby and the room together so the place feels designed.

Core items:

  • Reed diffuser + refill for the room and bathroom
  • Foaming hand wash at the vanity
  • A signature scent carried across bath care and fragrance

The move that separates a memorable property from a forgettable one is using one scent everywhere, not three different ones fighting each other. Explore room fragrance, the 150ml reed diffuser and the 500ml diffuser refill.

6. Accessories

Accessories are the details guests only notice when they’re missing: wet wipes, pens and notepads, coasters, laundry and shoe bags, and shower caps. Low cost, used constantly, and another quiet surface for your branding. Browse room accessories and hotel wet wipes.

Short-stay, Airbnb and serviced apartments: these want a self-contained bath or welcome kit rather than loose items, because there’s no daily housekeeping to restock. See travel & vacation kits and the Airbnb welcome kit.

How do you build a set for each room tier?

The same six groups scale up or down. Use this as a starting spec, then adjust to your brand standard — and see our full breakdown of amenities by star rating and how to budget cost per room.

How does sourcing change by property type?

A 500-room chain and a 12-room boutique shouldn’t order the same way. Here’s how we’d steer each one (for the full version, see hotel amenities by property type):

  • Hotel groups & chains: consistency and lead time matter most. Lock one signature scent and one packaging system across every property, and order on a schedule so you’re never the reason a new opening slips.
  • Boutique & lifestyle hotels: this is where custom formula and packaging earn their keep. Your amenities are part of the brand story, so spend here, not on the tenth accessory.
  • Resorts & spas: larger sizes, more body care, and a scent that matches the spa. Guests stay longer and use more, so plan for higher consumption per room.
  • Airbnb, serviced apartments & vacation rentals: self-contained kits, simple restocking, and packaging that survives being handled by guests, not housekeepers. Start with the travel & vacation kits.

Bottles or dispensers — which should you choose?

This is the question we get most, so here’s the honest comparison.

Small bottlesWall-mounted dispensers
Guest feelTraditional, “yours to take”Modern, expected by ESG brands
Plastic & wasteHighMuch lower
Housekeeping timeRestock every roomRefill less often
Up-front costLowerHigher (hardware)
Best forIn-room, premium feelPublic washrooms, showers, gyms

Most properties don’t pick one — they run bottles in the rooms and dispensers in public areas. You keep the premium in-room moment and still cut the bulk of your plastic where guests don’t mind.

Mistakes we see first-time buyers make

After 13 years, the same few errors come up again and again. Avoid these and you’re ahead of most:

  1. Chasing the lowest quote. A price that’s far below everyone else usually means a thinner formula, less product in the bottle, or a missing certificate. Cheap amenities show up in reviews, and that costs more than you saved.
  2. Buying an unmatched set. Different scents and formulas across the bath line make a room feel assembled, not designed. Match first, decorate second.
  3. Forgetting lead time on a new opening. Custom formulas and packaging take time to develop and produce. Start the conversation early, not three weeks before launch.
  4. Skipping certificates. If a supplier can’t show GMPC or FDA where relevant, you’re taking on their compliance risk. Ask for numbers, not promises.
  5. Treating slippers and accessories as an afterthought. They’re cheap, but they’re the items guests physically hold. Cheap-feeling ones undo an expensive room.

Can you brand and customize everything?

Yes — and most properties should. Stock sets are fine for a quick fill, but your amenities are branding surface you’ve already paid for. Options:

  • Private label — your logo on labels, boxes and kits
  • Custom formula & fragrance — developed in-house with a signature scent (Givaudan partnership)
  • Custom packaging & design — card, kraft, sugarcane, pouch; soy-ink printing
  • Embroidery on slippers, embossing on soap

MOQs and lead times depend on the products and how much you customize, so the practical next step is a spec list and a quote rather than a guess. See customization options or request a quote.

What about sustainability?

Cutting single-use plastic is now a procurement requirement, not a nice-to-have. The highest-impact swaps, in order:

  • Refillable bulk dispensers instead of single-use bottles
  • Paper packaging — kraft and sugarcane on board, printed with soy ink
  • sustainably sourced palm-based formulas
  • Solid bars that remove the bottle entirely

The key thing: eco formats can carry your existing formula and fragrance, so guests notice less waste, not less quality. Explore the eco line, or read our full guide to sustainable hotel amenities.

What quality and compliance should you expect?

A serious supplier should evidence compliance, not just claim it. Ask for:

  • ISO 9001 (quality management) and GMPC (cosmetics GMP)
  • GMPC good manufacturing practice, in a class-100,000 cleanroom
  • FDA registration for relevant formulas
  • RSPO for sustainable palm oil and FSC for paper packaging

We manufacture under all six of these from a 10,000㎡ facility in Yangzhou Hangji — the global hub for hotel toiletry manufacturing — with a 20-person R&D team and capacity for 150,000 sets a day. See our certifications, and if you’re still evaluating suppliers, read how to choose a hotel amenities supplier without getting burned.

A full 40ml bath line (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, hand wash, soap) with a signature scent, a complete kit set (dental, shaving, vanity, comb, shower cap, sewing), linen or velvet slippers, a reed diffuser, and the full accessory set — all under one branded identity.

Can you match amenities to our existing brand scent and colors?

Yes. With 1,000+ in-house formulas and a Givaudan fragrance partnership, we develop custom formulas and signature scents and apply your branding across labels, kits, packaging and slippers.

Bottles or dispensers — which is better?

Bottles suit a traditional in-room feel; dispensers cut plastic and housekeeping time and are increasingly expected by ESG brands. Most properties use bottles in rooms and dispensers in public washrooms.

Do you offer eco / plastic-free amenities?

Yes — paper-packaged kits, RSPO formulas, refillable bulk and solid bars, on board with soy ink. See the eco line.

What are the minimum order quantities and lead times?

Both depend on the products and how much you customize. Send your room count and spec list and we’ll come back with MOQs, lead times and pricing.
